I installed this app and used successfully in my iMac with Lego Star Wars Complete Saga. However, my gamepad is not responding with Lego Indiana Jones 2. What should I do?
I have tried it with my PS3 controller as well as my Xbox360 controller and nothing worked. This app is useless and non-functional. I want my money back!
Not feeling happy that my $8 so far hasnt let me use my wired Xbox 360 pad (I followed the websites instructions), a generic NES USB pad, or anything else for that matter in Snow Leopard. The app crashes when pressing directionals on my generic USB pad, and Ive tried a variety of games and apps; nothing recognizes the pads. As far as Im concerned, this app is broken and shouldnt exist. Id like an update or a refund.
I use this to simulate buttons. I cant seem to get the triggers and the thubsticks to work (Xbox360 controler) I use another program for that. But still is an ok app. Could be better in my opinion.
#1. Some gamepads need third-party drivers installed before they can function in this or any other program. #2. The Apple Wireless keyboard lacks a Right-CTRL button and this program relies on me having one to map it to a specific button. Because of this and Apples keyboard design there are certain games on OnLive that arent even worth playing since you cant change the controls.
I recently had this program downloaded to my mac for free. It was an older version that worked with my controller. When i went to use it a few months later, the program expired. My only choice was to get this app. The interface is similiar to the previous version except this one doesnt work at ALL!! Waste of money. I would like a refund or an update. or just the old version back because it worked well. Very disapointed i cant play zelda tonite. thanks for ruining my night gamepad companion. thanks.
This program used to be FREE before the update, and it worked. I was using it for a good 2 years and then one day I updated it and all of a sudden it said that the program expired! Now you have to shell out $8 and it doesnt work. I want my money back!
This application is a joke: not working (joystick particularly). Where can i find a gamepad, like the PS3 or the XBox, 100% compatible with Mac? Apple Store, find it or make it, and sell it!
GamePad Companion seems to be working fine with my PS3 DualShock3 wireless controller connected to the Mac via BlueTooth (running OSX 10.7). It is easy to set-up multiple configurations and switch between them for different games. However, I havent had the chance to use or calibrate the analog R2 and L2 trigger buttons in, for example, a good racing game, so I cant say how well that aspect works.
hey guys it works i found out how to use it for 360 and ps3 controler ill have a video on it soon ill be name game pad how to, ill put it on yotube around the 2nd of september! it works good for cod4, and halo.
Just tested with Steam and Counter Strike. Works fine. PS3 on Bluetooth. Need a few setup time and you can record your settings. Great App! But palying CSS on a mac with a pad, aiming is just a little harder. The best is the mouse, thats finest tuning.
This is a great app for any gamer, keyboards and mouses are awkward to play with, but gamepads are how real gamers play! Also the app is real easy to set up and it works perfectly with the ps3 controller.
I use this app for non-intended purposes (i.e. using my Rock Band guitar as a sampler lol) but it does exactly what I need for my band, so thanks much! Wouldve payed double.
app works great easy to use im running a ps3 controller with no problems on cod4!!!!
I bought this to play "The Bining of Isaac" on my Mac… Read the reviews… some good, some bad. Thought "What the heck.. its $10". Im sorry to dissapoint, but it seems to almost work, then falls flat on its face. I have Mac OS X 10.7 (latest version), and a wired XBox 360 controller. Ive installed the driver, and the controller shows up just fine in the interface. Heres how its mapped for "The Binding of Isaac": X-Axis: d a Y-Axis: s w X-Rot: left right Y-Rot: down up Button #3: Shift Button #1: Space This works out to a "dual-stick shooter" style control in-game. Before even launching, I tested the keys… Mac OS X makes all kinds of noise (repeating the default "Ding") when you hold down any of the axes. (more on this later) Launched the game…and hmmm.. If I press left or right, it seems to work, but then I cant move up and down. If I go up and down first, it works, but then I cant move left and right. Likewise with the 2nd analog stick (X/Y-rotation)… if I press one direction first, the other one stops working, and I can only control in two dimensions. Heres another issue: If i hold down a button, IT REPEATS. It doesnt hold down the key…! Theres no way to change repeat rate either. This seems like a MAJOR, MAJOR oversight in the design! If I hold down the A button, youd expect it to hold down the keyboard key, not send millions and billions of keypresses. Lastly, the program cant seem to figure out where to "send" the keypresses. I have background windows filling up with text, while my game ends up uncontrollable. Heed my warnings people. This program doesnt work! Im going to cry over a measly $8, but I can at least save you the trouble!
I tried installing a Logitech F710 (requires controller mode "D" active) on my iMac, runnning the latest MacOS X Lion 10.7.3 and it just doesnt pick up the gamepad, at all. The Logitech F710 is specifically mentioned, on CarvWaves site to work — but it doesnt. Why would CarvWave lie about this? If the software worked, Id be happy to pay 7.99$ but it just plain doesnt. Minimal help and zero support. Unless they come up with a major upgrade, this piece of software is waste of your money... and Im also mad at Apple for peddling such useless software (making it look like it works while it doesnt).
Keep crashing! I want a refund, dont waste your money!
Very happy with this app! Just plug in your controller and you can assign mouse clicks, single keys, multiple keys, and the joysticks control the mouse. Theres a few quirks like buttons on the controller cant be assigned certain types of keys or mouse clicks for no real apparent reason, and there was a strange buzzing sound out of my speakers when I first hooked it up but pressing <esc> seemed to stop it. Other than that the app does everything youd expect! Based on my experiance its only really good for games where you hot keys (like letters or numbers the keyboard). Im currently using it for Diablo III and am very happy! EASY SET UP, WORKS GREAT, FEW MINOR BUGS BUT VERY EASY TO WORK AROUND HIGHLY RECCOMENDED FOR GAMERS WHO USE A MOUSE/KEYBOARD
