Can’t figure out how to configure both joysticks on Sony Dualshock 3 gamepad. May be author should add some presets for commonly used controllers like Xbox 360 and PS3. For now app is not usable.

Hi there, rather than for gaming, Id like to use it to control my HTPC with my gamepad instead of using mouse and keyboard. Programs like XBMC (but also many games) recognize the Gamepad automatically, though, leading to double commands of all sorts. It would be awesome if one could enter "exceptions" where Gamepad Companion just shuts up whenever a program on the list is in focus (i mean: running on the foreground). It would be even more awesome if one could specify for which program on the list to shut up and for which program to override the gamepad signal so that the program or game at stake would just get the (highly customizable) faked keyboard/mouse entries passed on by Gamepad Companion. In the past hour that I’ve had this app, it’s crashed AT LEAST 10 times. I can’t imagine how some people are getting it to work, but I have had no luck at all. Even if I get past all the crashes, the mapping for joystick to mouse scrolling is absolutely horrendous. The mouse continuously slides downwards even when I’m not moving the joystick. I originally bought this to use a controller with guild wars 2 but all it did was make the controls (on the keyboard too!) in gw2 stop working (I don’t even know how that’s possible). Anyway run far away from this app. It’s wasted an hour of my life I’ll never get back.

This didn’t work with my controller although it was listed as compatible on the website. Save your time and spend a little extra money on something that will actually work rather than wasting it here. The UI was also confusing and didn’t come with any sort of instructions.

As soon as I open the app, there is only one box that I can change. As soon as I click the drop arrow, it crashes.

Does not work on Logitech F310. Wasted my money. Should have checked to see app has not been updated in two years. App store needs a refund option.

Got it to assign key modifiers and play Wine games with my ps3 controller. Works better then I actually thought it would! For those of you that are using an Xbox controller, you need to use a wired one; Not a Play and Charge wire plugged into a wireless. If using a wireless X360 controller you need to download the drivers first and get the X360 wireless gaming receiver for wireless X360 controller use.

Serious gamers and serious techs only. You need a few minutes to learn the settings interface and program config, Currently using a wireless PS3 controller, playing Tomb Raider 2 from the app store. Difficult game to maneuver, but GamePad Companion configurates PS3 controller just like the original PSX controller. Can also reassign the buttons and learn a more useable config. Customize configs for every single game, saving each games layout. Thumbs way up!

Very dissapointed. Ive tried to change several settings and this still doesnt work. The joysticks dont work directionally and the mouse keeps going to the corner of the screen. When you go to use the joy sticks to move the mouse around the screen, its like a magnet is pulling it to the opposite side. Not worth $8 until they fix the app.

Really hard to use. Barely works. Does not work with minecraft, works alright with GTA.

It is a little hard to understand how to hook it up.. I got it connected to my PS3 controller but when in the game the mouse pointer is still going so my movement is limited when my mouse is forced to stop at the edge of the screen.. Making the game unplayable… Wasting my money till I find a way around it.

When I bought a Logitech WingMan to go with my old Dell, it came with a multi-pin connector (which plugged into the PCs sound card) and a USB adapter. Logitech has long since discontinued the original WingMan and never offered Mac OS X drivers for it. I had been using the original shareware GamePad Companion but its response was a tad slow because it was a 32-bit driver running within Snow Leopard. Since I had already mapped the buttons for LittleWing pinball games and Pinball HD, I decided the gamble the price. Jackpot! It works like a charm and even carried over the mappings from the System Preferences version. I can play longer and keep beating my best high scores. Its a winner.

cant be fine-tuned for aiming. ive tried every possible configuration. do not waste your money if you are considering fps games with a sony or xbox controller

Tisk, tisk, tisk.. So much hatred twords this handy little app. I had no problem with it reconizing my Logitec game pad. This app is very useful. Those who feel scammed, scammed them selfs. This app is great. Works great for bus driver, and trains. Easy to configure. Just keep one thing in mind. When switching programs, also switch configuration in the app. other wise it isnt gonna work, and you probably feel duped. Happy Gaming. Update: This app doesnt let you control the sensitivity of the mouse, when you are emulating it. The option stays greyed out. Joystick Mapper will skunk this app.

Ive seen people give bad reviews because their xbox360 controller wont connect, but if you read on their site that is all explained. This app works just like it suppose to. worked great for my PS3 controller. The only thing i wish it would do is allow you to do is assign specific keys to the different positions of both analog sticks. sort of like the d-pad except not. lol it would help make it more compadible with games that are more dependant on the WASD style movement and dont support the analog stick. Like GW2s Mac Beta. which works with it for the most part.

Figured Id update my review. This app is still awesome. And works perfectly with my PS3 controller.

The app recognizes my Logitech F310 gamepad, but when I turn the controller to on, nothing happens. Ive emailed the dev but so far nothing. Also, it didnt create a Preferences Panel like it should so that I can adjust settings to maybe fix the problem myself. All around poor and very frustrating experience with this app so far.

Now I can play Minecraft without any problems!!!
